Queuing at the border

From 1st October, 2010, transport flows to Kaliningrad region at the Lithuania-Russia border are regulated by “Ekskomisarų Biuras” security staff. Aim of the queue arrangement is to ensure favorable conditions for transport vehicles, passengers and cargo crossing the state border, reduce negative impact of transport flows on environment of the cities, nature and road infrastructure, create conditions for safe traffic. Time and number of vehicles that may be allowed to pass though is defined by the territorial customs officers.

The queues in Ramoniškės are formed in front of the control post, along the road Kiduliai- Ramoniškės. At Panemunės control post they are formed in the territory of Panemunė town. At Kybartai control the queue of the passenger cars is formed in the territory of Kybartai town, Basanavičiaus str. 55

What is important to know:

“Ekskomisarų Biuras” security staff registers incoming vehicles and issue queue registration cards to their drivers.
Cards are given only to the drivers of vehicles in the queue.
Only the vehicles registered under order in which the card was received are admitted to the territory of the post.
In the case of absence under their numeric order, the drivers can not come into the territory of the post later on, and have to register anew.
It is possible to get the card for the vehicle in the queue for one time.
Without the queue, transport vehicles are allowed to pass in the cases provided in the regulatory provisions for passenger and freight vehicles crossing the border of the Republic of Lithuania.
